TANA

“The real enemy is inside you”

Tana is a self taught Māori wood carver. As a little boy he admired his ancestors pictures hanging in the living room. He would stare at their tattooed faces (Tā moko) for hours and dream to one day have the same.

Despite his families disapproval he tattooed his face at a very young age. He shares with us a story of his pursuit of identity, and the lesson he learned from this rebellious act.
